Khartoum
lies in the centre of the Sudan at the junction of where the White Nile
and the Blue Nile meet to form the great River Nile. This junction
forms a superb and unique sight, with both the white and blue Niles
flowing side by side, each with its own colour.
Climate
- This
varies from hot to very hot with some rain in the summer
months. and cooler but dry winter months. The rains vary from 100-300
m/ms. Per year, and the temperature varies between 30-45 in summer
(April-November) and between 15-25 in winter (December to February).
Population - according to 1993 census, the
inhabitants of the Khartoum state were about 5 million persons.

The Turkish rule Era (1831-1885)
Represented by two tombs which are the
graves of the Turkish rulers. They are located at the crossing of the
Qasr and El-baladiya streets .
